He is also listed with his wife of 53 years, Nancy Susannah (Pantier), age 72. He is indicated as being born in Illinois in March 1826, putting him at 73 years of age. In 1900, he's living with his son Marion in Empire City, Cherokee Co., KS. He returned to his former home and engaged in farming for several years, but removed to Kansas in 1899. He was chosen corporal at the organization of the company, promoted sergeant, and served with his company until captured at the battle of Peach Tree creek, Georgia, JHe was held in rebel prisons to the close of the war, and was honorably discharged at Springfield, Ill., June 17, 1865. CLARY was born at Petersburg, Menard county, Illinois, March 25, 1828, was married and a farmer when he enlisted from his native town. Clary seven grandchildren one great-grandchild one brother, Leo Clary, and two sisters, Mrs. He was born in Daviess county on June 4, 1884. He was a retired farmer of the Reed community, where he farmed all of his adult life. Clary, 79, of Reed, died Saturday at Rest Haven Convalescent Home.
